Hello everyone and thank you for listening today. Now, I take you with me on a new topic "Studying in Events Today”. Being in this professional cursus at a communication and marketing school, believe me I know about it.
I chose a communication and marketing school where I prepare the bachelor's degree in event project manager over 3 years but other types of diplomas exist such as DUT or BTS in information or communication, licenses and of course specialized masters.
During these years of study, pupils are trained through modules such as project management, event strategy, communication strategy, public speaking, learning how to use different creative software, etc. Being in a specialized school, we are trained by speakers to have the most professional course possible.
To consider a professional career in event, many qualities are necessary such as good contact, team management, good organization, resistance to stress and pressure and great availability. Obviously, these qualities we are developing them during our learning curve thanks to the training that we follow.
As future professionals, we need to make sure we have a minimum of experience in the field to show that we have strong skills. I can tell you that finding an internship during this period is a hassle but with perseverance and help from our school, we can find one. To prepare for interviews, we rely on a creative, clear CV and personalized cover letters for each company. In addition, to find our internship, we can use our network.
Indeed, in events, what is very important is the network. Whether it is to find an internship, a job, to know quality providers and therefore to ensure its reliability. The construction of our own network begins as soon as we enter the field and before.
Personally, my vision of these studies, when I joined my school, it was innovative courses, group projects, moments of sharing and experience with conferences, outings to trade fairs. Professional integration with several internships and then of course student life, the BDE evenings we made the most of it. Then COVID 19 arrived and everything went digital. Classes, conferences, exams are now remote, tours and events canceled.
To sum up, by going to study at this school and choosing the event project manager, I imagined human contact, physical encounters and creating my own professional network. I ended up for almost a year being behind my computer screen to follow the courses from our teachers and take my exams.
Sometimes it takes a long time believe me!
Our motivation is still there and even if our future is uncertain, we are looking for solutions, our capacity for resilience remains strong. This is an asset that we must put to work to continue to bring events to life.
Then you are going to say to me "But which postgraduate student is going to pursue studies in events today, now that the health crisis is present? "And quite simply, those who believe in it, those who are ready to surpass themselves and those who are convinced that the event is capable of continuing to live, to grow and that it will continue to give us unforgettable moments.
Thanks for listening to this podcast, hope you found it more and interested. See you soon.
